[music/rant] why ‘practice makes perfect’ irritates me, and why being off-key isn’t always a bad thing

Last night, I suppose I was in a ranty mode and I recorded these two rants (you can hear me sighing and coming up short for air as my brain tries to let off steam). Listen at your own caution:

why ‘practice makes perfect’ irritates me

why being off-key isn’t always a bad thing

good off-key

bad off-key

  1. *listens anyways*
your first audio rant cuts off a bit before 1:05 by the way…
i cracked up at your “email notification sound”. how old is your email system? like do you still use “aol” ?
in regards to the bad/good off-key, perhaps you can draw from dissonant vs consonant chords/sounds too and how some dissonant chords/intervals can be good/bad. the other thing is going off these two videos… i think its also the strength of the voice too… its obvious who has a stronger voice…

    • um, as a self-professed nerdy person, I wouldn’t say my email is old.. the first notification is actually “Yes, my lord” from Kuroshitsuji and the other one is “Hey” from Legend of Zelda, Navi character.. it’s just like a beep when someone gets a text, except I have something slightly more unique–

thank you for the heads up,
      Michelle
